White Hamburger Gravy
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
onion, chopped
2 TB oil
2 TB flour
1-2 cups milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/4-1/2 tsp pepper
Directions:
Brown ground beef and onion in oil, discard all but 2 TB oil. Over low heat, stir in flour, stirring constantly. Cook 2 minutes, scraping browned bits off bottom of pan. Gradually whisk in milk. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly, 3-4 minutes or until thick and bubbly. Add salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
