Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 TB cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups sliced, blanched almonds
3-1/2 cups flour
Directions:
Combine all ingredients with 2 cups of flour (except almonds). With wooden spoon, stir in almonds and remaining flour (dough will be very stiff). Divide in half. Shape each into a log 10x3x1 and wrap. Chill for 2 hours (up to 1 week). Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cut 1/4" thick slices. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Makes 80 cookies.
